Understanding Arthritis: Building Resilience and Preventing Falls

Beau Halligan is an Australian-trained osteopath who has recently opened a clinic in Sebastopol. He specializes in helping individuals manage and overcome pain and mobility issues through hands-on techniques and personalized movement strategies.

Falls affect each and every one of us in some way, whether it's a parent, loved one, neighbor.

Falls are a serious threat to older adults, affecting millions each year. One in four seniors falls annually, doubling their risk of falling again. The consequences can be severe—one in five falls causes serious injuries, leading to over 3 million ER visits and 300,000 hip fractures yearly. Falls are also the leading cause of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and cost over $50 billion annually, with Medicare and Medicaid covering most of the expenses.

Understanding the risks and taking preventive steps can help protect independence and well-being.
