Location: in person chair yoga on Wednesday: 12:45pm - 2pm Friday: 9:15am - 10:30am Instructor: Adriene malley
Cost: Members $8 | Non-Members $10

Description: Slow Yoga is a moderate paced class that’s adaptable to all levels of practice. Each class is theme based, i.e. opening hips, working core muscles, etc. The class begins with ample warm ups leading into the theme du jour and ending with release work and rest. Props will be used, so it’s advisable that each student have a mat, a strap, 2 yoga blocks and a blanket. The Senior Center has some props, except blankets. It’s nice to have one’s own yoga kit as it’s a big part of one’s yoga practice. Look forward to seeing you in class.

About the Instructor: Adriene Malley has been teaching yoga since 2005 after her first yoga teacher training from Ananda Seva in Santa Rosa.  Adriene has also trained with the American Viniyoga Institute with Mirka Kraftsow.  Viniyoga is a more therapeutic approach form of yoga.  Adriene attended the Novato Institute of Somatics with co-founder Eleanor Criswell.  Somatic Yoga works by retraining the brain and nervous system to release habitual held movement patterns through awareness and small and gentle movements.  And finally, Adriene has done training for Yoga for Osteoporosis through YogaU online with Loren Fishman, M.D. and Ellen Saltonstall.

Adriene is also a massage therapist. She received her training at the Sebastopol Massage School and has been in private practice since 2010.
