Information for you about us

SASC is a 501(c)(3) independent non-profit organization. Our mission is to create and maintain an environment that encourages independence for older adults by providing learning, social, and recreational opportunities in the continuing pursuit of a fulfilling and healthy life. We welcome people of all ages; however, we focus our programming on older adults aged 55+.

Unlike many other senior centers, SASC is not part of the City’s Parks and Recreation Department, as Sebastopol does not have a Parks and Recreation Department. To remain an integral part of our community, SASC relies on income from membership fees, private donations, grants (both private and governmental), special events and fundraisers, program fees, and income from The Legacy, our retail operation specializing in the resale of crafting items.
